Recapio is built to keep your data on your device. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking.
Information we collect
None. Recapio does not collect or receive any personal data. We have no servers that store your content, and the app does not require an account or sign‑in.
Your content
Audio and video you record or import, and the transcripts, notes, tags and translations you create, are stored locally on your device (and in your own iCloud/device backups, if you have those enabled by the system). This content is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Microphone
The microphone is used only to record audio when you start a recording. Recordings are saved locally on your device. The microphone is never used in the background or without your action.
Photos and Files
If you import a file from Photos or Files (or share one into the app), it is copied to the app and processed locally so it can be transcribed. We do not access your library for any other purpose.
Network use
Recapio connects to the internet only to download the on‑device speech‑recognition or AI models that you choose to use, the first time they are needed. These model files are downloaded from their public hosting (e.g., Hugging Face). Your audio, transcripts, and other content are not sent over the network.
Analytics, tracking, and ads
There are none. Recapio contains no third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use the Advertising Identifier.
Data sharing
Because we do not collect your data, we have nothing to share or sell. No data is shared with third parties.
Data retention and deletion
You are in full control. Delete individual recordings inside the app at any time, or remove all data by deleting the app. We hold no copies because your content never leaves your device.
Children’s privacy
Recapio does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
